The Chake Conservancy (CC)want you to use this website safely and with confidence. We care about maintaining your
rights to privacy.
In alignment with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which took effect on May 25th, 2018 we must
inform you about your data protection rights. The GDPR is a working document that will be updated over time and we’re
all obliged to keep our online services legal. The legal basis for using your contact information that you may provide to
us is that it is used solely to communicate with you in regard to our potential and actual mutual business arrangements.
Some of our media contains historical images recorded at public events / in public spaces. If your likeness appears in a
photograph or video on any of our pages and you would like it obscured, then please contact us about it. You will be
asked to show proof of your genuine identity with regard to this request and any of the following data requests. GDPR
rules guarantee you the following rights by law to:

others that they make up as they go along. You don’t actually have to do anything to enable greater rights to the
protection of your data, that is granted by law within the EU and UK, and US Citizens are covered by a mutual
agreement with our UK government.
By law we must make clear to you:
what data CC may collect from you online. They can only view personal information that you might actively submit to
them. That’s all. If you want to write any comments on social media or stay in touch in later life, that’s up to you, and it’s
fine with the CC as long as your messages don’t constitute SPAM, unsolicited commercial messages. Please don’t
expect CC to automatically publish comments or reply to SPAM comments and emails.
How CC uses the data.
We may publish comments about us that are intended for that purpose if they’re good and topical. Reviews and
comments about how we helped people. We reserve the right not to publish comments, but we will reply to all important
mail.
As a website user you have the following rights to privacy regarding your data.
YOUR RIGHT TO VIEW ANY PERSONAL DATA THAT CC HOLDS ABOUT YOU
This is the Opt-in information age. All personal details on file about you are those submitted for the purposes that you
intended when you gave it to the CC. The Data Protection laws give you the right to access information held about you, if
any is held. Any access request may be subject to a fee of up to £20 to meet costs in providing you with details of the
information (if any) that is held about you and any information request must be accompanied by acceptable proof of your
identity. We don’t just give your data to anyone who asks for it. It may very well cost nothing to provide that information to
you, it depends upon the complexity involved. We’ll likely verify important or complex instructions with you by voice and
possibly formal letter.
Please note that any personal digital and paper information you provided us is secured carefully.

We recognize that it’s our duty of care to treat any private data that we may hold about you responsibly.

In the event that you’d like some or all your data deleted, please make your request to CC in writing and if CC has any of
your data and you provide acceptable proof of your identity then we’ll serve your request faithfully.
YOUR RIGHT TO MOVE YOUR DATA OFF OUR SERVER
If there’s data on this website about you that you want off it then please contact CC and we’ll arrange that for you.
INFORMATION IN EVENT OF DATA SECURITY BREACH
Data breaches can happen to even large organizations such as banks and govt. offices. If we become aware of theft or
loss of any of your personal data from hacking or equipment failure or any other possibility we shall endeavour to alert
you as soon as possible. Please alert us if you become aware of such a risk, such as a lost notebook or lap-top that
would necessarily have security implications for us. You are entitled to be alerted within 72 hrs by GDPR rules, but we’d
try to notify you quicker if we can and arrange the resetting of passwords and any other remedial action that might help.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you notice anything suspicious about the operation of CC sites that we have had
made or manage. Thank you.
5. YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT TO THE KIND OF DATA THAT WE HOLD ABOUT YOU.
You can object if we hold some data about you that we don’t have a justifiable legal case to obtain or retain.
CC only retains the information necessary to fulfil its legally justifiable roll as a conservancy. The secretary is responsible
for managing individual communications with the public. CC does not indulge in unwarranted communication.
As I said you don’t have to do anything to enable greater rights to the protection of your data, that is already granted by
law. We still hope that all website visitors will keep to our terms of use though. If we keep to the law, everything’ll be fine.
We hope that you can use our site safely and with confidence.

Contact details provided via the contact form may be used by the CC to communicate with those members of the public
for the purposes specified on their source page, all personal details submitted are stored securely, are not retained for
longer than necessary to serve their purpose and will be destroyed when no longer necessary.
In addition to the above uses, we may supply any information to law enforcement agencies that we are obliged to
provide them by law. We may use any information made available to us in any situation where it could constitute
evidence useful in our defence in case of a dispute.
