(Source page: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-
protection/reform/rights-citizens/my-rights/what-are-my-rights_en) By law
we must adhere to the above GDPR rules
(https://ec.europa.eu/commission/priorities/justice-and-fundamental-
rights/data-protection/2018-reform-eu-data-protection-rules/eu-data-
protection-rules_en) and also to any others that they make up as they go
along. You don’t actually have to do anything to enable greater rights to the
protection of your data, that is granted by law within the EU and UK, and
US Citizens are covered by a mutual agreement with our UK government.
By law we must make clear to you:
what data CC may collect from you online. They can only view personal
information that you might actively submit to them. That’s all. If you want to
write any comments on social media or stay in touch in later life, that’s up to
you, and it’s fine with the CC as long as your messages don’t constitute
SPAM, unsolicited commercial messages. Please don’t expect CC to
automatically publish comments or reply to SPAM comments and emails.
How CC uses the data.
We may publish comments about us that are intended for that purpose if
they’re good and topical. Reviews and comments about how we helped
people. We reserve the right not to publish comments, but we will reply to
all important mail.
As a website user you have the following rights to privacy regarding your
data.
YOUR RIGHT TO VIEW ANY PERSONAL DATA THAT CC HOLDS

that is held about you and any information request must be accompanied
by acceptable proof of your identity. We don’t just give your data to anyone
who asks for it. It may very well cost nothing to provide that information to
you, it depends upon the complexity involved. We’ll likely verify important or
complex instructions with you by voice and possibly formal letter.
Please note that any personal digital and paper information you provided us
is secured carefully.
SECURITY of DATA TENURE.
We recognize that it’s our duty of care to treat any private data that we may
hold about you responsibly.
YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE SOME OR All DATA WE MAY HOLD ABOUT
YOU DELETED. The right to be forgotten.

govt. offices. If we become aware of theft or loss of any of your personal
data from hacking or equipment failure or any other possibility we shall
endeavour to alert you as soon as possible. Please alert us if you become
aware of such a risk, such as a lost notebook or lap-top that would
necessarily have security implications for us. You are entitled to be alerted
within 72 hrs by GDPR rules, but we’d try to notify you quicker if we can
and arrange the resetting of passwords and any other remedial action that
might help. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you notice anything

5. YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT TO THE KIND OF DATA THAT WE HOLD
ABOUT YOU.
You can object if we hold some data about you that we don’t have a
justifiable legal case to obtain or retain.
CC only retains the information necessary to fulfil its legally justifiable roll as
a conservancy. The secretary is responsible for managing individual
communications with the public. CC does not indulge in unwarranted
communication.
As I said you don’t have to do anything to enable greater rights to the
protection of your data, that is already granted by law. We still hope that all
website visitors will keep to our terms of use though. If we keep to the law,
everything’ll be fine.
We hope that you can use our site safely and with confidence.

parties for the purposes of direct marketing.

from visitors. In addition to viewing visitor numbers, we may also collect,
store and analyse such simple, aggregated visitors’ statistics that are made
available to us via our server such as frequency and dates of visits to this
site (the options include I.P. Addresses and referring sites where relevant)
and we may use this data to improve our services and also in aggregated
form in relation to interaction with advertisers if the CC chooses to place
advertisements on any of our pages. We cannot try to use this to identify
any individual and might only publish this information as aggregated
statistics in the form of an updated count of visits.
Contact details provided via the contact form may be used by the CC to
communicate with those members of the public for the purposes specified
on their source page, all personal details submitted are stored securely, are
not retained for longer than necessary to serve their purpose and will be
destroyed when no longer necessary.
In addition to the above uses, we may supply any information to law
enforcement agencies that we are obliged to provide them by law. We may
use any information made available to us in any situation where it could
constitute evidence useful in our defence in case of a dispute.
