CHAKE CONSERVANCY

VISITOR INFORMATION

Visitors are totally welcome and here is some information to help make your stay a great success! Ecotourism supports wildlife conservation in and around Maasai Mara in Narok, Kenya and employs local community members in projects ranging from traditional crafts production and sustainable agriculture to Safari guiding. Our guides simultaneously serve as paramedics. Most of our visitors fly into Nairobi and you can book your safaris and accomodation in advance or in-country. Concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic? Our tour vans are made in a way that when guests sit comfortably inside, there's social distance and we give health talks to our clients on the importance of handwashing, proper use of face masks and sanitizers while on board our 4×4 tour vehicles.

SAFARI Around Narok

The Maasai Mara National Reserve offers visitors year-round wildlife watching in the world’s richest big game park. Sweeping vistas of grassland with characteristic acacia trees have hardly changed since the dawn of mankind! Lions, zebras, elephants, rhinos and hippos? We’ve got ‘em! That’s because we protect them and they are worth far more alive as part of our living landscape than they would ever be dead. Here it is the human settlements that are fenced-in and the wildlife and safari vehicles that roam free! Let the experts guide you to the adventure of a lifetime. Download their brochure and see how easy it is to set up your tailor-made vacation with them!

December to March

The dry season! At this time of year, the grass is golden and shorter, making wildlife easier to see. Herds kick up dust and the scenery is atmospheric, dawn and sunset views can be glorious!

August and September

Fresh green grasses of the mara draw the migrations into Kenya of huge herds of zebra and wildebeest from the neighbouring Serenghetti in Tanaznia!

Year-round Wildlife

Watching

At any time of year you will experience an abundance of wildlife including possible encounters with: Lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, elephant, zebra, wildebeest (gnu), hartebeest, giraffe, impala, topi, buffalo, warthog, hippo and a host of smaller animals and birds that add spice to your expedition. We are not restricted to roads, the 4 WD safari vehicles go where the wild animals are and each trip has its unique experiences!
